Johnson & Johnson MedTech Reveal Innovative Orthopaedic Breakthroughs at AAOS 2025.

At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego, Johnson & Johnson MedTech unveiled a series of pioneering innovations set to revolutionize orthopaedic surgery. With a history of more than 135 years of medical innovation, the company unveiled its new implants, robotic platforms, and AI-based solutions aimed at improving precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

VELYSâ„¢ Robotic-Assisted Solution.

One of the highlights was the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution, a digital, CT-free platform that has already supported more than 100,000 knee replacement surgeries in 31 countries. The U.S. FDA recently approved VELYSâ„¢ for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), its first indication beyond partial knee replacement. When used with the ATTUNEâ„¢ Knee System, studies indicate a 33% reduced risk of revision, enhancing long-term patient results.

The VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution is transforming orthopedic surgery by enhancing precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes, as demonstrated at AAOS 2025.

KINCISEâ„¢ 2 Surgical System.

To address surgeons’ physical strain during joint replacements, Johnson & Johnson introduced the KINCISE™ 2 Surgical Automated System. This advanced power tool provides automation and greater control, minimizing surgeon fatigue and improving surgical accuracy and efficiency.

VELYSâ„¢ Active Robotic Assistance for Spine Surgery.

The firm also launched the VELYSâ„¢ Active Robotic Assistance Solution for spine procedures. Co-designed with leading spine surgeons, this technology integrates real-time navigation and robotic assistance for precise and flexible spinal surgery With millions of spinal surgeries carried out each year, this innovation hopes to enhance safety and efficiency.

VOLTâ„¢ Trauma System Expansion.

The VOLT Plating System, with its dynamic compression feature, was granted European CE Marking after FDA clearance and U.S. market entry. To be launched in a few select European markets in 2025, it improves fracture fixation with a combination of stability and flexibility.

INHANCE INTACT Shoulder Replacement.

The FDA-cleared INHANCEâ„¢ INTACTâ„¢ system allows subscapularis-sparing shoulder surgery, enabling immediate postoperative mobilization without the standard six-week immobilization. Coupled with 3D pre-surgical planning, this technology tailors treatment for improved patient recovery.

AI-Powered Advance Case Management System.

The AI-powered Advance Case Management system optimizes pre-surgical workflows, boosting efficiency in ambulatory centers and outpatient facilities.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech advances orthopedic surgery toward a future of greater precision, efficiency, and patient care.
